29TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF TREES

Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 5th 2024 as the Canadian Cancer Society’s Festival of Trees, proudly presented by TD and ExxonMobile celebrates its 29th anniversary. This year’s elegant affair will take place at the beautiful Delta hotel in St. John’s.

Festival of Trees is an evening of entertainment, great food and fundraising for an incredible cause. Guests are able to bid to win multiple items throughout the evening including the gorgeous Christmas trees that give the event its name as well as many other products and experiences. Live music is provided by some of the province’s most renowned entertainers making the event a great way to give back while enjoying a night out.

Through its mission and the record donations from generous donors, the Festival of Trees has set itself apart each year. It has become an annual must-attend event for people and organizations supporting the cause. Together, we can support people living with cancer this holiday season.

Canadian Cancer Society Formation

The Canadian Society for the Control of Cancer, later renamed the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), was officially founded. This marked the start of organized efforts to fight cancer in Canada.

Opening of Daffodil Place, St. John’s

Daffodil Place, a 24-room home-away-from-home, opened its doors to provide affordable accommodations for cancer patients and their caregivers who travel to St. John’s for treatment.

Amalgamation with Prostate Cancer Canada

CCS amalgamated with Prostate Cancer Canada, further consolidating resources to better serve prostate cancer patients through research, advocacy, and health education, ensuring donations go further.
